But talking about busy lives, when work gets hectic, we like blowing off steam and play tourist around town. Fisherman’s Wharf is one of our favorite spots.   • Japanese cuisine, with some Korean dishes, sushi, sashimi, bento boxes
  • Pros: Pretty good sushi and rolls, great prices, extensive menu, TV at the sushi bar, easy parking
  • Cons: Our biggest complaint is that the SF location is not open on Sundays

San Francisco is filled with Japanese/Sushi Restaurants. Yet, aside from a handful of traditional Japanese joints in and around Japantown, most sushi restaurants in the Bay Area are owned by Chinese and Koreans, and they tend to be more “creative” than authentic. But that’s ok by our books. To us, it’s just a different kind of eating. I Love Teriyaki & Sushi (what a long name) is one of our favorites of this kind of sushi restaurants. The reason? (more…)

When it comes to chain restaurants, many of them are very generic and have sub-par food that is way overpriced for what we get. Thus you’re not likely to find too many of these restaurants featured here at Savory Bits. Yet, there are a handful of them that are actually quite good, and Gordon Biersch is one of those that we frequent quite a lot. (more…)
